Here is an interesting video that shows a Brazilian tribe uncontacted by civilization. Very interesting video that could initiate very interesting conversations or writing prompts in the classroom.

I teach a religion class at a Catholic school, and we talked about one of the uncontacted tribes earlier in the year. It was a great conversation because it really brought to a reality for them the idea of evangelization. The best part about it, though, was that there was no conclusion to our conversation. It caused them to think and to discuss, but didn't have a definite answer. This has been invaluable as we discuss any topic in any course. Thanks for posting this video; I'll have to share this with them.
ReplyDeleteIt is crazy to think about the idea that there are still groups of people still living in isolation from the rest of the world.
ReplyDeleteOn top of that, these people seem to be doing just fine. They seem to be doing just fine without modern technology.
Makes you think about the life we live everyday and how annoyed we get at life compared to what bothers them.
It is unbelievable at times to realize that people still live in a primitive way. It makes believe that maybe a lot of resources in school (even though I believe they are outdated) are not being used to as well as they could be. This made me become analysis my teaching method. This is needed every now and again to keep me motivated.
